SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS

One of my favorite things in this world is football. I guess it's a by-product of living in a house with two boys for most of my life, but it's in my blood and I love it. I understand it too. And while I LOVE a good USC game, there's something about those West Florence games that I love too.

Before the first game, there is the annual first pep rally. And this year, as seniors, meant the tradition of button downs and ties/ bow ties. I don't know exactly when this tradition started, but it's always been what the seniors wore for as long as I can remember. Even though the freshman (VIA MY BROTHER) won the game (although I still don't understand how) the seniors did still manage to win the spirit stick. I mean when you start chanting "SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS" how can you lose?

So after a nice lunch at Grouchos with some sweet friends, I did my usual Friday afternoon stuff and also made a toga. Actually, I bought supplies for a toga and brought it to Alice's and ALICE made the toga, but hey, I tried. Alice is the best and I wouldn't be able to do half of the things I do without her. Eventually me and Austin (who's toga was made by the amazing Sarah Anne because I can't make boy's togas and she's a pro) headed out to Memorial Stadium. We hung out with everyone for a while and took some quality pics before heading in.

I was able to watch most of the game but me and Aus headed out during the third quarter. And we drove to Garden City in our togas, pretty much because we do what we want. Traffic was awful but we were actually following dad so we went the back way through Conway and made it in regular time. It was a great feeling sleeping in on Saturday and I'm really glad we went Friday. Especially because waking up and putting on my bathing suit and going to lay out all day Saturday and Sunday was amazing and the weather was great.
No where else I'd rather be
Not only was it a great weekend for laying out (I totally got burnt which NEVER happens), but it also was a mini family reunion for the Tyler side of my family. My dad is one of four boys, and it's been a while since all four of them and my grandma were all together at once. Well, my oldest uncle, his daughter, her husband and their little boy came down from Columbia/NC, and my second oldest uncle came down, and we were down so we all got together for dinner on Saturday! My third oldest uncle (third oldest? second youngest?) lives with my grandmama down at the beach so they came over as well. It was nice to have everyone together again! I really loved getting to hang out with my oldest cousin's little boy, Avery. He is extremely cute and a sweetheart. It was funny to us, as me and Austin were playing with him and his toys, his mom, our first cousin, pointed out that she used to do the same thing with me and Austin when we were Avery's age and she was ours! It's crazy how that all works out.

I've had an awesome start to senior year, and a great end-of-summer weekend, as much as it pains me to say. This week has already been busy. Ordered senior graduation supplies today, as well as got my transcript to finish off my USC application, the first of several. Church tomorrow night, and then finishing up my EFM classroom and our second home football game Thursday night. Thankful for sweet memories and fun times.
