Let's Catch Up

Well. Where to start?
I know. Thank you.
Thank you for reading my last blog.
Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for calling me and texting me and encouraging me.
Thank you for writing sweet things on my Facebook and on my dads.
Thank you for reminding me how much God has blessed me.

I honestly can say that I feel loved. So so loved. It is an incredible feeling to be reminded just how much people, friends, even those you don't know care about you.

After I posted that blog, I wondered if I did the right thing. Was it too much? Would people get it?
But I can say now that I am really glad. I honestly don't know what else to say other than thank you.
So from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head, thank you.

And now I'll move on.
It's been an exciting few weeks!
Since my last blog post, I have gone to Columbia, saw Kenny Chesney perform and stayed with my dear friend Taylor.. I organized an Easter Egg hunt for my kiddos (with lots and lots of help!!!), and I was asked to prom! And now I'm procrastinating packing. As usual. I'm such a procrastinator.

So first Columbia…
Taylor and I discussed going to see Kenny Chesney several times but I really wasn't sure if we were going to be able to get tickets..
But of course because she's such a dear sweetheart, she found some two weeks before the concert! So off to Cola I went Saturday afternoon.
Also can I mention that I drove there and home and parked in a parallel parking spot WITHOUT my GPS or phone and I was really proud of myself.
Back to my story..

We hung out for a while and then found some Florence friends and hung out with them and then went into the concert.
And took this picture.

And then after the concert, which was really good ( I love love Kenny Chesney), we ate food and hung out and caught up and it was really nice.
And then I woke up and we hung out some more and then we took this selfie before I left.

And it made me really happy. You know what else makes me happy? Knowing that I will be living on this beautiful campus less than 5 months from right. I mean it's really weird.. But I know that I'm going where I'm supposed to and that is such a wonderful feeling.
I am so excited.

So that was my weekend. Then Tuesday came! I was so excited about my egg hunt for my kiddos. I have been planning it for a while. Shout out to St. John's church for providing a gazillion eggs.

Also, please know that my kids didn't just have an egg hunt and were sent home thinking Easter is about an egg hunt and bunnies. My class (5-9 year olds) use the Resurrection Eggs set which they LOVE and I love too. It is a great resource to use, and I highly recommend it.
So anyways, they were just about as excited as I was.
I was lucky enough to have several sweet friends come along with St. John's to hide eggs while I contained my kids inside.

Here are just some action pictures I took, not very good pictures, but I tried!

love this one of the big kids helping the littles

They were so excited to crack them open!

Like I said, my kids had a great time. Before they were sent to look for eggs, they were told (not by me..) that if they found an egg with a number on it, they were to give it to me. And I was to hold it and not open it till I had all five.
Well of course, I'm like okay, must be a Bible verse or something.

So eventually, all five were handed over to me. And I was told to open them.
One of my girls helped me out.

Well the first note wasn't what I was expected…
Neither was the second..
Or the third.
Or fourth.
Or fifth.

Instead, each egg contained a sweet note with a different capital letter.

And by the fourth note, I realized what it spelled.

So Mark, one of my best friends since Freshmen year, asked me to Prom using my kids and some Easter Eggs.
My kids thought it was the best thing in the world. They were so excited.
Like seriously. I think I heard "MISS ALANA YOU ARE GOING TO PROM" about 16 times.
But it's okay because it was really cute. They loved being involved.
So shout out to Mark for including them.

Excited to go to Prom with my sweet friend.

And that's just a catch up on some big events.

Also I got my cap and gown the other day.
This semester is flying by.
And still I'm reminded that's it just God's purpose, not my plans.
