MISSING: Carolina Defense

To everyone who read my post about EFM... THANK YOU. I have had two people let me know that they are interested,  and many many people tell me they are praying for us. I am SO encouraged. However, I am still looking for more people. Adults, teenagers, anyone can help. Please pray about serving at EFM.

With all that being said, it has been a busy few days!! Wednesday came and went with the annual "Picnic on Park" at church and then dinner with tait afterwards. Thursday was busy as well. We headed up to USC about 3:20 and made it by 4:40 which was crazy good since traffic is normally so bad. Even though we had an absolutely horrible outcome at the game.. Probably one of the worst I've ever seen.. I still was REUNITED with one of my best friends and I am soo glad I got to sit with her. 
On that note, it was so good to see her and hang with her. Also, not really sure why my sunglasses look red in this picture. Speaking of sunglasses, mine were sadly broken on Thursday night (not really a good night…). It was my own fault though. I was tired of holding onto them and sat them on the seat while I was standing up. Someone stepped on them. So even though it was their foot.. I was the one who put them there. But I am thankful that these are Costas because that means a new pair for frreeee. Yay! Now only to put up with a cheap pair from Target till my new ones come in. Going back to the game though.. oh it was bad. We are very lucky in that Alice has 8 season tickets, and she loves all of us enough to take us along. Thursday night was the first game that we've lost at home that me and Austin have ever seen. We've been going to these games with Alice for about 2 1/2 (maybe 3?) seasons now. And we've never witnessed a loss. It was not fun. I hope to not witness another one. Maybe, just maybe, our defense can get it together and work on some stuff to improve before our next game. Otherwise we're toast for the rest of the season. With all of that being said, it was still a good time, and I'm pretty excited that fall is returning. Although I'm not in too much of a hurry to have beach weekends over.

As per usual, I'm procrastinating tonight. I have a paper due on the European spice trade. But the European spice trade isn't what's on my heart tonight. It's October. The time for pumpkins, scarves, and falling leaves. It's one of my favorite months of the year. It's also Breast Cancer Awareness month. These past few weeks, I have seen so many "survivor video" links on my Facebook. They're awesome. Those ladies (and men), every single one of them is incredible, and I praise God that they were healed. But I didn't want to watch the videos. I didn't want to hear how the doctors saw the cancer cells and were able to get them out through surgery at the nick of time. I didn't want to hear how the chemo worked for them or how the radiation was able to kill the cells. I didn't want to. Because more than anything in this world, I want to be able to click on a link on my Facebook page and see the survivor story for my mom. ...

My Friend, You Did Not Create the World.

My friend, It's been a long while since I've written. Let me just say that junior year of college hits like a freight train going at full speed with no warning horns.  Rumor on the street is that people are already asking you what lies beyond graduation. Crazy right ? We have a whole year and some before that.  But we're constantly wondering what lies before us, aren't we? Asking ourselves a million times a day how the decisions we make now will affect us later on. Where will I be in two years, five years, ten years? What city, what state? What will my career be, where will I live? What relationships will I have? Will I be financially stable? Will I be happy? Will I have friends? Reality Check times 2

Why is it that I get the most motivated to type a post when I have homework to do? I've always been a procrastinator but for some reason I just really want to type when I know I need to be doing pre-cal or tech work. Oh well. I just wanted to share some things that have been on my mind lately.  Two things that caused me to have a major reality check today. I mean major. Earlier today I was sitting outside of starbucks doing my tech work for my English 101 class. If you're unfamiliar with Dual Credit, basically I take college classes while still in high school, through FDTC and get college credit and high school credit. It's super helpful, and right now I'm taking English. So like I said, I am sitting outside of starbucks drinking my four dollar coffee, typing on my Mac, playing with my iPhone (more procrastinating), and wearing the, what I feel like at least, is the typical white girl outfit of a tshirt and leggings.
